President’s Message

Welcome to the February edition of our Club Bulletin.

I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge and thank all the members from our Club who continue to give their valuable time to assist with our Bunnings BBQ. In particular I would like to thank Robert George, Graham Tyson, and Gaye McClure.

During January we held the second part of our Annual General Meeting (AGM) to fill the vacant roles on the Board for the 2026/2027 Rotary Year. Unfortunately not all positions were filled including the Treasurer and President Elect. Please feel free to speak with President Elect Erik Mol if you are interested in volunteering to be a member of the Board.

I am still to hear from members from our Club in relating to choosing and funding a local project in Bathurst that supports our local community in which we all live. Please feel free to contact me if you have any ideas.

For your diaries please find below some key dates for activities that out Club is involved with for the first half of 2026.

What is your New Years Resolution

ROTARY AROUND THE WORLD
'The Rotary Club of Bradley-Bourbonnais in Illinois has found jigsaw puzzles featuring scenes from the community to be a fitting fundraiser. In September, the club unveiled its third annual installment, featuring a bucolic scene of an 1850s barn. The club runs a photo contest each June to find images for the puzzles, offering a $100 prize. It credits the photographer by name and promotes a link to the winner’s website. “We’re celebrating what our community has to offer,” says Julia Mullikin. “People are looking forward to getting each year’s puzzle.” Club members staff tables at markets and enlist merchants and museums to offer the puzzles, which sell for $30. “We use just about every portion of the box to promote our Rotary club,” says Frank Koehler.

What a great fundraising idea. Maybe something for Bathurst Daybreak to think about!!
