Bathurst Informative Talks – Prominent People or Places

Members are asked this year to conduct some research into a prominent person or place in the Bathurst. Region. Information such as: full name, association with Bathurst, background history, influence and prominence should be considered. Examples of people could be Rev Merrick, Windradyne, a Mayor of Bathurst, or sports people.  Examples of places might be Abercrombie House, CSU, Machattie Park, Mt Panorama, CMA, any of the Churches, Bathurst Court House, Bathurst Hospital.

If you can’t think of any person or place you would like to research, please contact me to discuss.
If you have selected a person or place, please let know so we don’t double up.

Then, prepare a one page summary of your research for inclusion in the club bulletin (more content for the bulletin). All this is easy to do these days using the internet. It probably looks like a “school assignment” but it can be fun and informative to all members, especially if you can uncover some unusual and little known fact about the person or place.

Then, each member will be called on to give a 3 minute talk about their research findings at a club meeting over the next 11 months (a bit of public speaking, presentation and entertainment skill development).
